This USB adapter will replace the serial adapter (p/n 42150) which was used with previous software versions. As the computer industry moves away from the RS-232 communication port, the USB is now the standard for hardware peripherals. The new GARD software supports the serial adapter, but switching to the USB Interface Adapter is recommended.
