When retrofitting current mechanical locks or new electronic safe locks to old safes, weld the Retrofit Mounting Plate into place for proper lock mounting position. The plate is predrilled and tapped to the standard mounting pattern for most S&G, LaGard, Ilco, Mosler 302s, etc. Mild steel allows you to drill and tap additional holes in the field if necessary.
